Every weekday the audience listens for a Metallica riff played on a kazoo for a chance to win Metallica tickets. Shark personalities Orlando and Harrison are also visiting various Long Island charities to conduct Kazootallica jam sessions and create awareness for these amazing organizations.
Chaz & AJ have been named Best Personality of the Year in the Medium Market category at the 2016 National Association of Broadcasters’ Marconi Radio Awards in Nashville. The awards were announced Thursday night at the annual NAB Marconi Radio Dinner and happen each year during the Radio Show.
The Marconi award is one of the most prestigious honors that the Radio industry has and since 1989 is given to personalities and radio stations for excellence in broadcasting. Marconi finalists were selected by a task force of broadcasters, and the winners were voted on by the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Selection Academy. The votes were tabulated by an independent firm.
Chaz & AJ air on Connoisseur Media’s three rock stations in Connecticut—102.9 The Whale WDRC FM (Hartford, CT), 99.1 WPLR (New Haven, CT), 95.9 WFOX (Stamford/Norwalk, CT) from 5:30am-10:00am. The show has made headlines by bringing communities together through good and bad times and has often been referred to as a “town hall meeting in a frat house.” Joining Chaz & AJ on-air are “Pam” and “Producer Phil”. The show has aired in Connecticut since 2002, and together with “The Tribe”, have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for listeners in need throughout the state.
The NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show also featured a performance by Grammy Award-winning singer Jennifer Nettles, courtesy of Big Machine Label Group. Acclaimed WCBS-FM morning personality and host of the nationally syndicated “America’s Greatest Hits” Scott Shannon served as the host.

On July 27, K-98.3 welcomed Global Music recording artist Nathan Sykes to the Connoisseur Café! Formerly of The Wanted (“Glad You Came”), Nathan is promoting music from his upcoming solo album Unfinished Business, including the single “Over And Over Again,” recorded as a duet with Arianna Grande, which is presently a top-15 song on the Adult Contemporary chart. The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) has announced the finalists for the 2016 NAB Marconi Radio Awards, honoring radio stations and on-air personalities for excellence in broadcasting.
Connoisseur Media’s WALK on Long Island was nominated for AC Station of the Year, WPST Trenton for Top 40 Station of the Year and Chaz & AJ, heard mornings on WPLR New Haven, WDRC Hartford and WFOX in Fairfield County for Medium Market Personality of the Year.
The winners will be announced on September 22nd at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show during the 2016 Radio Show in Nashville.
Orlando from 94.3 The Shark’s morning show and Program Director / afternoon personality Harrison interviewed singer Randy Blythe of Lamb of God at the state of the art Paramount Radio studio in Huntington, Long Island. The Shark also presented Lamb of God with their first ever Gold Record.
