The Core (WGER), Saginaw’s alternative station, is bringing a familiar Saginaw voice to the station’s on-air lineup. Breck Kinsey has officially joined the Core Crew and will be on-air weekends from 10am–3pm on both Saturdays and Sundays. Kinsey is already well-known around the Saginaw radio scene.

“The station’s vibe and music mix made the opportunity feel like a perfect fit,” said Kinsey. “The variety of the music on the station really drew me to want to be on The Core. I love rock, I love alternative — it’s what I love to listen to. The socials made it look like it was a fun place to be. It’s young, fresh, and new, and it just looked like fun.”

Kinsey has been a staple in the market for years, with a strong listener following and social community, and was recently added to middays on Connoisseur Media’s country station in Saginaw, WCEN “The Moose,” making her voice even more recognizable across the area.

“Adding Kinsey to the team was an easy decision,” said Program Director Kevin “Meatball” Kerr. “She’s exactly what we needed on this station, and a strong, local voice to hold down our weekends. We’ve got a stacked on-air roster, and she is gonna be the icing on the cake. We’re stoked to get her in the studio.”

106.3 The Core flipped to alternative in 2023 and has been building a lineup that reflects the energy and music tastes of the Saginaw audience. Adding Kinsey to weekends is another step in continuing that momentum.
