WALK 97.5 FM Becomes Long Island’s Holiday Music Station
Since 2001, celebrating the holidays in our area has meant tuning your radio to WALK 97.5 for Long Island’s favorite holiday soundtrack.
Once again, the station known for Real Variety from the 90s, 2K and Today will play non-stop holiday music through Christmas Day. The moment when WALK 97.5 officially switches over to holiday music varies each year, but this is 2020 and listener feedback is clear! The sooner we can start to spread yuletide spirit across Long Island, the better!
WALK’s afternoon host Christina Kay will officially usher in the holiday season on Friday November 13th at 5PM. Christina, who has been kicking off the holiday season on WALK 97.5 for the past 4 years says “Since I was a kid WALK has been the soundtrack to my holiday season. Tracking Santa… singing along to old favorites and learning the words to newer ones… decorating and baking while the WALK crew kept my family company. It means the world now, being on the other end! Hitting that “Holiday Red Button” is literally a dream come true, kicking off the start to a season full of joy and excitement! While we all may be literally home for the holidays this year, WALK 97.5 will be here to spread happiness and spend the holidays with you, as always!”
This year, Christina will be joined by News 12 Anchor Erin Colton to officially flip the switch and bring WALK 97.5 – Long Island’s Holiday Music Station to life. Everyone at WALK 97.5 enjoys watching Erin’s adventures on Long Island and decided she was the perfect person to help us celebrate the event. We wanted to reiterate the sentiment that we all have been through a lot this year, but we’ve gotten through all the challenges, together.
The unprecedented difficulties that came with 2020 have been the driving force behind everyone at Connoisseur Media Long Island working even harder to make this holiday season all the more special.
