Connoisseur Media Announces Format Flips in Dayton Ohio
October 2, 2025
Dayton’s radio landscape gets a shakeup with the exciting return of Z93 and the debut of 101.5 The Fridge. Both stations are poised to bring two powerful formats that promise to energize and reconnect listeners across the Miami Valley.
“Z93 was a powerhouse in Dayton, and we’re thrilled to bring it back for a new era,” said Market Manager Brett Beshore. “By reuniting popular voices like Scott Sharp, and Dayton’s most iconic personality Kim Farris, with a high-energy presentation, we’re delivering a station that feels both legendary and fresh, something completely unique in today’s radio landscape. Listeners will experience a station that sounds like nothing else on the air today. Z93, Eaton, Dayton and Springfield ALIVE!”
Operations Manager Kevin J. Washington added, “It’s truly an honor to help bring Z93 back to Dayton! The station meant so much to me back in the day when I was an intern. To be part of its return is a full circle moment.” Program Director Joel Murphy promised listeners a nostalgic yet exciting lineup stating, “We’ll be playing all the songs and artists that helped make Z93 famous. The best stuff from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. Listeners can expect to hear classic pop and top 40 with artists like Prince, Micheal Jackson, Phil Collins, Whitney Houston.”
Local personalities are also returning to the airwaves. Morning Show Host Scott Sharp shared, “Z-93 is the station that I, and many other Daytonians grew up with and am beyond excited for the return of the legendary Z. Hearing ‘Eaton, Dayton, and Springfield ALIVE!’ will be a goosebumps moment, and I am honored to have the opportunity to be part of a special station and legacy.”
Listeners craving modern rock will also have a bold new option. The debut of 101.5 The Fridge introduces an alternative rock station unlike anything Dayton has heard before featuring artists like Foo Fighters, Green Day, Mumford and Sons.
“With 101.5 The Fridge, we’re giving Dayton the coolest alternative rock station it’s ever had,” said Market Manager Brett Beshore. “The name pays tribute to the city’s proud Frigidaire heritage, while the format delivers a bold, modern sound that will stand out and connect with listeners and advertisers across the market.”
Operations Manager Kevin J. Washington added, “101.5 The Fridge is going to bring a fresh, energetic sound to Dayton with jocks to match!”
Program Director Kevin Begley summed it up, “Alternative has been missing from Dayton for way too long, and that ends now. 101.5 The Fridge is here to give the music, and the fans, the home they deserve. This is the soundtrack of a generation, back on the radio where it belongs. The Fridge isn’t just a name, it’s a signal that alternative in Dayton is alive, loud, and impossible to ignore. We may not have been able to get Frigidaire to come back to Dayton… but we did bring back alternative radio. Get ready Dayton, The Fridge is fully stocked.”
The return of Z93 and the debut of 101.5 The Fridge mark a new chapter in Dayton bringing back a station that listeners have loved for decades while adding a fresh sound the city’s been missing.
