Chaz and AJ Announce the First-Ever “Battle of the Box” Charity Challenge to Benefit Local Children’s Charities
Chaz and AJ in the Morning, Connecticut’s leading morning show on 99.1 PLR, are taking their annual holiday fundraising tradition to a new level with an exciting twist: the “Battle of the Box” charity challenge. For the past six years, the show’s co-host AJ has raised money for the Chaz and AJ McDermott Chevrolet and Lexus of New Haven Toy Drive by spending 24 hours inside a glass box at McDermott Chevrolet and Lexus of New Haven. This year, the show has added a competitive edge—swapping out AJ’s marathon stay for a friendly contest among local celebrity personalities, show members, and special guest participants to see who can raise the most donations in two hours.
The Challenge
Over two days, November 7th and 8th, the “Battle of the Box” will see Chaz and a series of special guests each take a two-hour shift in the glass box, all aiming to raise as much money as possible for local children’s charities.
This year’s participants include well-known Connecticut TV personalities like WFSB Channel 3’s Marcy Jones and Caitlin Francis, Matt Scott from FOX 61, and WTNH News 8’s Dennis House, as well as local YouTube sensations Paulie & Bri, with their dog Koda.
Each participant will be stationed in the box outside of McDermott Chevrolet and Lexus of New Haven, located at 655 Main St in East Haven, encouraging fans to donate both online and in-person. The competition promises excitement, community spirit, and an impactful way for listeners to help children in need this holiday season.
