Milford, CT – (November 12, 2024)   Two days of annoying tunes, good spirits, and big hearts as the Chaz and AJ Battle of the Box fundraiser raised just under $52,000 – an impressive launch for the Chaz and AJ McDermott Chevrolet and Lexus of New Haven Toy Drive.

Held on November 7th and 8th outside McDermott Chevrolet and Lexus of New Haven, the Battle of the Box event combined humor and endurance with a serious mission. Connecticut media personalities, local celebrities, and members of the Chaz and AJ morning team took two-hour shifts confined in a plexiglass box with a relentless and repetitive loop of the most annoying music made piped in – all for charity.

Participants included Chaz, Keith, and Ruth from the morning show, alongside notable statewide TV celebs like Caitlin Francis and Marcy Jones of WFSB, Dennis House from WTNH, Matt Scott of FOX 61, and local YouTube sensations Paulie & Bri with their dog Koda. WTNH’s John Pierson reported from the site live, while East Haven Mayor Joseph Carfora joined the festivities to support the cause.

Generous listeners and viewers contributed online and in-person, raising funds that benefit the Chaz and AJ McDermott Chevrolet and Lexus of New Haven Toy Drive. These donations will provide gifts and support to children in need through local organizations, including BH Care, The Center for Family Justice, Central YMCA, Boys and Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley, and Boys and Girls Village.
