WICC LAUNCHES “THE BEAT AND THE BADGE” WITHMELISSA SHEKETOFF AND GARY MACNAMARA

April 17, 2026

Connoisseur Media’s WICC 600 AM and 95.9 FM, The Voice Of Connecticut, is adding a new weekly program focused on public safety and community awareness, called “The Beat and The Badge”.

The Beat and The Badge will air Sundays at noon, hosted by weekday morning personality Melissa Sheketoff of Melissa in the Morning alongside retired Fairfield Police Chief Gary MacNamara.

The show will cover both local and national crime stories, while also giving listeners practical information on how to stay informed, prevent crime, and make a difference in their own communities.

“We want to help make conversations around uncomfortable topics feel more familiar and to inspire change for people’s daily lives,” said Sheketoff. “I’ve known Gary since I was teenager and to have this platform with him now to empower the public is a dream come true!”

“I’ve known Melissa for years and am excited to partner with her,” said McNamara. “I’ve always been impressed by the way she connects with her audience. She investigates, asks tough questions, and brings a natural curiosity to every story. The Beat and the Badge is a natural extension of that—a great opportunity to bridge perspectives by bringing together journalism and law enforcement.”

Sheketoff and MacNamara bring different but complementary perspectives to the show, combining media experience with real-world law enforcement insight. Each week, they’ll break down key cases and focus on what listeners can take away and apply to everyday life.
