The Talk Of Connecticut Delivers More Local Shows
Hartford, CT – December 30, 2015 – The Talk Of Connecticut will welcome 2016 with three new additions to its lineup starting on January 4th.
Weekdays the 10am-12pm slot will be held by “Ed Says” hosted by Ed Oliveira. Never short on opinions Ed will deliver unbiased news and information coupled with his trademark wit and biting commentary. No one is safe from his scrutiny and no favorites will be played. Everything is fair game: from Connecticut news and politics to national stories and pop culture.
Ed Oliveira says: “I couldn’t be happier for the opportunity to bring real conversation to talk Radio. Not just a talking head screaming at the converted but a show where the listener’s voice is just as important as mine. Real conversation, debate and the exchange of ideas isn’t dead.”
2016 will also see the return of Dan Lovallo to The Talk of Connecticut as he hosts “Front and Center” weekdays at noon until 1pm. “Front and Center” is an exclusive partnership with Frontier Communications. Lovallo once hosted a popular drive time talk show on the Hartford-based radio stations, commenting on politics and other current events. The program’s focus will be on local business and the excitement and challenges businesses face in today’s environment. “WDRC and the Talk of Connecticut have always been close to my heart, so I am excited to be returning to host this show,” said Lovallo. “I’m also thrilled that Frontier Communications has agreed to sponsor the program.” Frontier commented “As a major economic contributor in Connecticut, Frontier Communications is proud to partner with WDRC by putting Connecticut businesses Front and Center,” says Paul Quick, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Frontier in Connecticut. Quick adds, By sharing stories of success, innovation and job creation, Front and Center will help promote and enhance the business climate in our state for everyone from start-ups to multinational corporations. “
“Bringing local talk programming back to Connecticut was one of our big missions when Connoisseur purchased the stations over a year ago,” said Operations Manager Keith Dakin, “We couldn’t be happier to bring a talk Radio superstar like Dan back into the fold as well as expose the audience to a fresh new talent like Ed”.
Finally, every Saturday and Sunday morning Hartford’s legendary “Big D” is back on the Talk of Connecticut. Celebrate the sounds of the 50s and 60s with longtime Hartford disc jockey and music historian Rob Ray as he takes listeners for a visit down memory lane from 6am to 10am.
Rob Ray commented “I’m really excited to be bringing back the Big D on the station where you heard these songs originally! You’ll be hearing your favorites, a few you haven’t heard in a long time, as well as some surprises that will take you back in time.”
Connoisseur Media Connecticut General Manager Kristin Okesson added “I see a big opportunity in the Hartford market to deliver live and local Radio and build upon hall of fame broadcaster Brad Davis’s morning show. These new talk additions will offer opinions, won’t be predictable and will allow the listener an opportunity to engage with hosts who are fair and thoughtful. I thank Frontier Communications for their partnership on this venture.”
