99.1 PLR’s Chaz and AJ Raise $16,000 for Local Veteran
June 6, 2017
991 PLR’s morning show, Chaz and AJ, raised $16,000 for a local veteran during their annual “Chaz and AJ Budweiser Veterans Gala” at Fantasia Banquet Facility in North Haven on Friday June 2nd.
Ryan Dostie was an Army Specialist from 2003 to 2008. She spent a year in Iraq during her 5 years of active service and joined the National Guard after she left the Army. In the last few years, the strong affects of PTSD has made her unable to work. Her husband, a teacher and volunteer firefighter, has carried the burden of the family and they have been struggling to get by. Heart 9/11, an organization of September 11 and Newtown First Responders, found Ryan and are working with her to improve her house, yard, roof and heating system in our backyard of Hamden, CT.
Chaz and AJ, along with the help of military comic PJ Walsh and local comedian show regular Dave Reilly, hosted this fundraiser that raised thousands in tickets sales plus auction items that sold in the four figures including “Pam hosts an ice cream sundae party at your house” and “AJ drives you to a car show in his classic car”.
This annual tradition has become an incredible event that truly shows what local Radio can do.
