WHLI Welcomes “The Wiseman” to 1100 and 1370 AM

Connoisseur Media Long Island announces that effective May 18, 2015, Long Island’s longest running radio station, WHLI, welcomes popular on-air personality, Bill Wise, aka “The Wiseman” as morning drive host and Program Director.
WHLI blossomed into the heritage brand it is today under the direction of Dean Anthony. Before his passing, Dean worked closely with The Wiseman to pass the torch to the next generation of listeners. While other PDs have been at the helm between Dean’s passing and The Wiseman’s official entrance, The Wiseman has always been involved behind the scenes. He’s been a part of the WHLI team for years and this is the next natural transgression to continuing Dean Anthony’s legacy and promoting The Wiseman.
“It’s an exciting time for all of us here at WHLI,” Says Jim Condron, GM/Market Manager for Connoisseur’s Long Island based cluster. “The Wiseman is a recognizable and popular brand in himself and to be able to merge his likeness with the heritage format of WHLI creates a winning combination for our listeners, the community and our clientele.”
WHLI is heard on 1100AM and now simulcasts on sister frequency 1370AM allowing the signal to be heard from the Queens/Nassau border all the way through to Patchogue in Suffolk County. Under Wiseman’s direction, WHLI will continue the tradition of “Playing the Music of a Lifetime” featuring a range of genres from standards to oldies.
“We’re bringing the fun and the oldies back to Long Island,” said The Wiseman. “Get your lucky bucks ready and tune in Monday morning for the all new Morning Show with me, The Wiseman, waking you up and starting your day”.
